any years ago, there was a boarding school where Algonkian Regional Park is now. The school was so remote, that sometimes days or even weeks passed without visitors from the neighboring towns.

Legend has it that the scariest thing about the place was the evil caretaker who took great pride in terrorizing  students who were in the wrong place at the wrong time.  

  The school building was a mile away from the student dormitories by the  road.

There was, however, a shortcut through the woods.

Tthe shortcut was much faster than the road, but not much safer!!!

For years, students suffered an eerie feeling of being watched whenever they took the shortcut.

Then, c hildren began to disappear one by one until the school had to be closed down.

Finally, one, terrifying night, the real horror of it all was revealed .

In a shallow grave, close to the shortcut, a homeless, old dog dug up the bones of 13 children!

Each of the skeletons had one thing in common;  Each skeleton was missing at least one bone!  

  To this day no one knows how the 13 children died or why. And why was each one missing a bone?

The evil, old caretaker disappeared the night the bones were discovered but some local teeanagers claim to have seen him in those woods playing the drums with the bones of the dead children.

Sometimes, at night, neighbors hear the laughter of little children coming out of the haunted woods.   Just around midnight, the laughter turns into something else.
